Simulated Vitreoretinal Surgery Course

This course is designed for Specialist Trainees and Junior VR fellows who are interested in VR surgery and would like to have hands-on experience of basic VR techniques.
The 1 day course includes:
- Dry lab simulation of pars plana vitrectomy with Eyesi VR module
- Wet lab simulation of vitrectomy:- insertion of ports, core vitrectomy
- Dry lab simulation of scleral buckling:- exposure and slinging of rectus muscles, indirect ophthalmoscope indenting and marking location of retinal breaks, suturing scleral buckle and encircling bands, draining SRF, injecting air, closing in layers
